Company Overview
The e-bar is part of The Eton Collection, a boutique hotel and restaurant group founded in 1998 by hotelier and businessman Peter Tyrie. Tyrie's aim was to create a unique collection of boutique hotels and restaurants of outstanding quality in prime city centre locations. The seven hotels and three restaurants are all highly individual but are all set within stunning historic buildings. His first Eton hotel was The Colonnade, which opened in 1999 in a Victorian Mansion; this was followed in 2000 by The Academy. In 2002 Quebecs opened and was followed shortly after by the opening of Threadneedles and Bonds. The Glasshouse, in Edinburgh opened in 2003. In August 2007 the collection was aquired by JJW Hotels and as a result two further hotels joined the collection 42 The Calls and The Scotsman.
Since opening in 2002, Bonds has listened to the needs of The City, tweaked and perfected the menu and wine list, and has received the commendable AA Notable Wine List and rated highly in the Zagat surveys.

Moving from hotels and into the restuarant forum, Tyrie spent 18 months heading up The Atrium Edinburgh, and then managed the first Itsu in Chelsea London. Tyrie launched Bonds in July 2002 and has been the primary driver to its success.
